First session of 2022

First session of the year, since the weather turned to crap in November 2021. The first session of the new year is always rough, as it take about 1 or maybe 2 sessions to get my feet back under me. Legs are always a little weaker after winter, and I’m just a bit rusty in general. Was good to be back on my board and I’m looking forward to a good year of skating.

Anyway, I was a little slow today, a little afraid of little rocks, and just generally getting the feel for my board again.

Rocks are always worrisome regardless of size. Glad you got some rolling in. Yeah it’ll take a bit to get the board feel back after a winter of cold, soggy, yuck o rama.

Good on ya! Me, Derian, Weller and Crum had some rolling on the round walls yesterday at 4DWN. Derian got out again early this morning up at Roanoke. It’s been crappy skate weather for sure. Not my first time out all winter but close.

Bob, what shoes are you wearing in the vid? As I age my feet are giving me the troubles, I need to find something with more Cush and support than vans.
Keep up the posts and the vids, love ‘em.

      Hi Stan,
These are New Balance NM255 shoes. They are not cushy. I changed to them because Vans fucked up their shoes when they came out with the new “Skate” line, and ended the old Pro line. The new Vans are extremely uncomfortable, stiff, and give me blisters on my heels. The New Balance give good board feel, have really good grip, but are not cushy at all. They feel like Vans used to.

Thanks for gettin’ back to me Bob. Maybe I’ll take a look at those and could throw some insoles in ‘em. I don’t know what it is with the vans, I wear the old style, but they all seem to fit a bit different, more narrow. Maybe that’s because I’m gettin’ older and wider.
