Important media sources of the evolution of my world view.

  • Captain Kangaroo
  • Frankenstein Junior
  • Fantastic Four cartoon (early 60s)
  • H.R. Puffinstuff
  • Lost in Space
  • Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
  • The Time Tunnel
  • Land of the Giants
  • Star Trek – Original Series
  • Doc Savage novels
  • Carl Sagan – Cosmos series
  • Nova – PBS series
  • All in the Family
  • Original Planet of the Apes movie series
  • The Andy Griffith Show
  • Gomer Pyle
  • DC Comics from the 1970s, especially the Flash. I like all the time travel sciency stuff he could do with his powers.

  • Mark Gimarc’s Rock and Roll Alternative (thanks to my friend Paul for making me remember this — it was CRITICAL!)

Oh dude — yes — most of those should be on my list. Well, maybe not Spillane, but the rest (even, yes, the Bible. If you live in the United States, it is critical to your world view whether you admit it or not). The Rock in Roll Alternative was CRITICAL. Adding that!
