For less than $5 a month you can have space on a web server. For a few bucks a year you can have your own domain name. With a computer at the public library and a plain text editor you can then publish a website that can be seen more or less all over the world. THAT IS POWER. It just requires a tiny bit of knowledge and effort to do your own thing. You should do it.
YouTube is now full of older GenX and young Boomer who have reached retirement age, or been retired against their will, who suddenly realize they’ve been lied to by Capitalism for their whole lives and that materialism is not a great thing to base your life on.

I dont use YouTube anymore, and I’m super curious to know what you mean by this/what you saw to make you post this? “Many Boomers suddenly realized they’ve been lied to by capitalism” feels like an incredibly surreal reality to me
It really wasn’t meant as derogatory to anyone. As I approach retirement I’ve been watching a lot of videos, and YouTube just shows me a tremendous number of videos of men around my age who feel like they’ve been lied to and chased materialism their entire lives. It’s actually very sad to hear. I don’t feel like that at all. I feel like my career has been well-spent and I’m very happy with how I’ve spent my life.
