Everyone these days has a colophon page — a “how do I make this site and what do I use” sorta page. So this is mine. Just to fit in.
- This site is run on an installation of WordPress, on my shared server account on Dreamhost.com, on which I run other blogs for specific things like my RPG games. I’ve been very happy with dreamhost since about 2005.
- I use the Marianne theme on WordPress because it is simple, doesn’t look like a real estate portal. It one of about 3 WordPress themes left that don’t stuck.
- I write this blog using the built in editor on WordPress, but I use the Classic Editor plugin, because the block editor (whateverthefuck they call it) sucks.
- At this very moment I’m writing on a Chromebook. I use MacBooks as well. I just edited a page using the WordPress app on my iPad.
- I’ve started hosting videos on my $9 a month Vimeo account, rather than shitty fucked-up sold-out bullshit YouTube.
- I tend to edit images, if I do any editing, on my iPad now, using Procreate or some other image editing software. On my MacBook I used GIMP.
